Disability Ministry
Systems
To see Westminster Presbyterian Church glorify God through integrating children, youth, and adults with differing abilities into the life and the mission of our church.
At Westminster Presbyterian Church, we consider it a great honor and privilege to minister to and serve families touched by disability. We want to meet the unique needs of the individual with disability by providing personalized support at the direction of and permission from the parent, caregiver, or guardian. One way we do this is through a Buddy System.
A Buddy System provides a one-on-one buddy to accompany and enable inclusion in any scheduled church service or activity. The buddy system is a procedure in which two people, the "buddies", operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help one another. Buddies are a rotation of youth students and adults.
Our goal is to provide parents, caregivers, and guardians the opportunity to attend worship and receive discipleship in a class, or fellowship during an activity while knowing their child is also being included, served, and discipled.
An Invitation to You
We would love to have you join us in worship and Sunday School each and every Sunday, as well as participate in any of our other activities. If you have any questions about our ministry to special needs families, please contact the church office.
